Flow House

Flow HouseBrad Pitt and his Make It Right foundation in New Orleans are trying to build new affordable houses that will also be safer for residents when the next big hurricane comes their way.

To help out, architects William McDonough & Partners have unveiled Flow House, developed after input from families in the lower ninth ward.

Said to be 100% “Cradle to Cradle,” Flow House is made of materials that can either be recycled or returned to nature after the useful life of the house. It includes a number of passive heating and cooling techniques, roof mounted PV panels, and rain or storm water runoff systems.

The two-family residential Flow House design is 1900 Square feet, and house price is said to be $250,000. Read post in Inhabitat.
