I House
The architecture firm Moomoo has unveiled a new project called I House. Known for cutting edge design and material use, the firm doesn’t disappoint with their latest project clad almost entirely in a plastic called Thermopian.
Thermopian has typically been a material used as a thermal insulator for roofing. The choice by Moomoo to clad the entire I House creates a unique look and increases the thermal capacity too.
While the house may not work everywhere, it does work as a simple site house whose material use ads efficiency and beauty. Also notable is the form of the I House, partly created by one distinctive wall built to appease the local zoning laws which require building in line with plot borders.
Some have objected to the lack of windows in the house, but we can’t help but think it’s tied to the house’s name. An “I House” of course would not include “Windows.” Read post in Dezeen.
